NORDIC ROOT
Nordic Root was established in 2015 by Swedish designer, choreographer and metal-smith Maria Nilsson Waller. Her passion for movement, body and poetic expression influence her pieces, which she hopes will be worn and loved for many seasons. Each piece is handmade and unique and her collections are made in limited edition only.
The pieces are made using clean, body-friendly natural materials such as silver, wool, linen, copper, persepx and suede. As far as possible the materials are organic, eco or re-cycled, hoping to encourage a shift towards slow fashion and a more sustainable way of living.
Currently based in Glendalough, Maria is influenced by the surrounding Irish flora and fauna, as well as her Scandinavian heritage. Nordic Root represents contemporary design for urban nomads, celebrates the timeless beauty of folklore with a nod to the past, the natural and mystical world.
